Focus Catchment Map Series Presentation

The Upper Waikirikiri Catchment Collective have been working with the ‘Wai Connection’ team from EOS Ecology to develop a Focus Catchment Map Series (FCMS) of our Upper Waikirikiri/Selwyn catchment.

We hope you can join us (and the EOS Ecology team) for a presentation and discussion introducing the FCMS, and it’s valuable information about our catchment. The FCMS document for the Upper Waikirikiri/Selwyn area provides an overview of the known state of our catchment, covering key topics, including: climate, topography, geology, vegetation (past & present), soil types, water quality, and ecology.

The data comes from national and regional datasets, and blends modelled information with site-specific survey data. Most of the data is available from online public sources. The FCMS is designed to be a starting point to help us understand our catchment better, and inform the strategic development of our future plans.
